Committees and groups

As part of the REF preparations, a number of committees have been set up to engage with relevant specialist groups to drive forward the REF agenda, ensuring that systems and processes are put in place to meet key milestones and to assist in strategic decision–making.

A brief description of each committee/group is provided below:

REF Faculty Review Panels – Consider staff, outputs, impact case studies, environment data and scenario modelling and establishing quality threshold.

REF Equality and Diversity Panel – Advises on equality and diversity issues throughout REF preparations and considers cases of complex individual staff circumstances.

REF Appeals Panel – Considers and makes recommendations on all REF appeals.

REF Planning Group – Planning and oversight of REF preparations.

REF Data Task Group – Prepares REF–related data, including environment data on doctoral degrees, research income and income–in–kind.

REF Impact Working Group – Provides and coordinates support for development of impact case–studies.
